The Sweet Conclusion!

Rel Mollet Books, Family

Our epic summer ending came early this weekend with the sudden appearance of our Navy Corpsman, home on leave before he moves to Sicily (yes, Italy) for his last three years of enlistment.

My amazing family dropped everything to come home. And I caught this sweet pix of Pete and Bubby after church.

So, what you don’t know is that Pete has been working toward becoming a Navy Corpsman for a couple years, one that involved trying to become a SEAL, going to BUD/s and even a deployment on a ship in the Persian Gulf, one that was fired on by Yemen. (Yeah, don’t tell his mother!) Going to Italy is a sweet ending (and new chapter) to a challenging journey. Unexpected. Long-awaited. Earned.

We’re very proud Navy parents. (and here’s a Hoo-Yah to every other military parent out there!) But mostly because Pete endured, kept the faith and didn’t give up. Even when things looked dismal.

(Kind of like a hero of a great story.)

When an author writes a trilogy, it’s not just about the individual books, but a story arc that must stretch over the three books. The first book is the ignition, the second is the hot middle that intensifies the story, and the third is the blazing finale. All three have their place, but admittedly, it’s the most fun to write the third, the epic ending.

That’s why I’m so excited to see book #3 of the Summer of the Burning Sky series hit the shelves today!

I love the hero–Riley,a man with a deep wound who meets Larke, a woman also harboring wounds. Together they work to save lives and stop a raging wildfire. But they also bring to a climax all the themes and story arc that started in book #1 and #2.

The reviews are starting to come in! #sograteful. Thank you!

Every time I do research for one of these books, I’m amazed and humbled by the bravery of the amazing wild-land firefighters working across America to save homes and property and people. Thank you for your hard, grueling work. You’re in my prayers.

If you’re looking for a great read, I hope you’ll consider adding the Summer of the Burning Sky trilogy to your end-of-summer vacation binge.

I promise to give you a sweet, long-awaited, epic ending.

Thank you for reading, friends. I appreciate you!

Go in grace!
