Hello from the beach!
Listen, I know a lot of you are cold. I’m praying for Texas and Minnesota and all the other cold, blizzardly places. Frankly, I love snow, and sitting by a cozy fire reading a book. But it can be dangerous…stay inside. Bundle up. Drink some cocoa. This too, shall pass.
Your ice cream cone is out there, waiting, I promise.
In the meantime, can I suggest some cozy reading from the list of popular best-sellers?
Yes, you know what I’m going to say…there’s this NEW, amazing book that’s out, that has garnered some pretty nice reviews, like this one…(Thank you!)
and this one:
I’ve personally read it, and enjoyed it. (Okay, I admit I’ve already read the REST of the series…and it blew me away. Okay, I’m kidding. I WROTE the book, along with James L. Rubart and David Curtis Warren. But it has this pen name, right?). I LOVE that readers are writing in that Rembrandt reminds them a little of Sam Beckett (Quantum Leap). Yes, yes he does.
So, while you’re keeping warm…

Now for a little Valentine’s Day fun. My friend, author Rachel Hauck, first posted this interview and I thought it was cute. So…here goes.
My Valentine Story
How’d you meet?
I worked at a sister camp on the north shore and was assigned to his tear-down crew at another camp. I asked to borrow his hammer, and we hit it off. (see what I did there?) He later followed me to Minneapolis where we dated and got engaged 2 ½ months later! We just knew.
First Date?
We took a motorcycle ride up the north shore and talked on the beach for four hours as we threw stones into Lake Superior.
Married?
30 years
Kids?
4 amazing adult children!
Age difference?
1 ½ years. I robbed the cradle.
Who was interested first?
Andrew! He saw me and had a crush on me for 2 months before I noticed him. But when I noticed…oh, honey…
Who said I love you first?
Andrew. I was too chicken.
Most sensitive?
Me, for sure. But he has feelings too. (He says he has 3—hot, cold and hungry. I think he has a least a couple more!)
Loudest?
I’d say me, but then I met his family. Not me.
Falls asleep first?
Are you kidding? Him. Before he hits the pillow. Grr.
Cooks better?
Andrew is a fantastic cook. It’s a good thing or we’d only eat popcorn.
Better morning person?
Andrew. “Don’t waste the sunlight!”
Better driver?
Andrew. He is a driving ninja. He’s driven all over the world (Russia, Germany, Italy…)
Funniest?
Oh me. For sure me. Take my word for it.
Where do you eat out most as a couple?
We eat in mostly, but we like Italian and Mexican. We have a tiny Italian place here on the beach that we love. (Hello Pappagallos!)
Who is more social?
I would think me…but once Andrew gets started talking, he’s the life of the party!
Who is the first one to admit when they’re wrong?
Me, Him. I don’t know. We both admit wrong-doing..it’s part of good communication, right?
Who wears the pants in the relationship?
I am the daily pants. Andrew is the overall pants.
Who cries more?
Me. But mostly when I’m writing a book.
Who sings better?
Oh, Andrew, for sure. He has an amazing voice.
Spends the most?
Me! LOL. Except Andrew buys the BIG things. Boats. Vintage cars. So…HIM.
Did you go to the same school?
I put hubby through Moody Aviation, in TN. I had already graduated from the U of MN.
Where is the furthest you two have traveled?
Hmm. Khabarovsk, Far East Russia.
Who drives when you are together?
Him. See above question!
Here’s me and my Valentine..
Thank you for being a READER Valentine. I appreciate you!!
XOXO!
