I have been furiously writing this week—working on my new series. (Oh, you’re going to love this amazing family…think: a mix of Marshalls and Christiansens, with a hint of the Montana Rescue team thrown in!) I’m pounding out words because next week, my kids arrive to escape to the beach for a week of relaxation and fun.Read More
I did a thing…
It’s May Makeover Month (I’ll bet you didn’t realize that ). Hubs LOVES this month. He can’t wait for me to hand him the weekly DIY list, and to work on my thousands of “better get them done before we go back to Minnesota because we’ve been procrastinating with walks on the beach and dives in the convertible for the past three months” TO DO items.Read More
Oh my. Really, Susie?
This is actual footage of me today.
This is what happens when you go to NYC for four days and have to see EVERYTHING (or when you are married to Mr. Warren, who likes to get his money’s worth).
Day 1: 10.2 miles
Day 2: 7 miles
Day 3.
A quick getaway, a sale and a fun book rec!
It’s been a wild week so far, so let me catch you up!
Over the weekend, I finished grouting my tile.
It was sort of like a cool art project. I am no longer afraid of tile. See what happens when you build up something in your brain, only to discover it’s not a big deal?
These Three Things!
Happy glorious Friday! I made it through another 120 pages this week…only to stare at the last blank chapter. How does this thing end????
No worries, I’m off to breakfast with my writing partner to figure it out.
In the meantime, three things…
1. Would you like a FREE BOOK?
This is the day (and some hot deals to go with it!)
Happy Friday! I wrote 120 pages this week, got my characters through an Alaskan blizzard, dropped a few juicy truthlets, had them meet a few old friends (I love that part—suddenly a character appears that totally makes sense, but we’ve completely forgotten until now), gave them a great kiss, and now brought them to the precipice of danger…
And there they are going to sit until next week.
The secret to story magic
My house is quiet once again. Alas, all my people have gone back north, which means that in the silence, my characters have started to chatter, getting ready to throw themselves out of my brain/heart and onto the page.
I am not unaware of how blessed I am to have this job—I get to make up awesome people,
That time we almost sank…
Hello from the boat! We got Big Red working this weekend, and took her out for a fun maiden voyage.
Actually, that’s a lie. My husband took her out for a maiden voyage in February.
And nearly sank the poor girl.
It wasn’t his fault. Really. Apparently some plug inside the boat broke loose on the long ride home from the previous owner,
A blast from the past!
Happy Friday!
Just me, popping in with a quick book suggestion for you…
How about the crazy story of a single gal who goes to Russia as a missionary for a year?
Yep, my “based-on-fact-but-not-a-memoir” novel hit the shelves today! It’s still at the low, low preorder price ($4.99) for a couple days,
And now for something different…
I’m just going to take this week and tell you how grateful I am for your willingness to read my newsletters, pick up my books, send me beautiful letters, and generally help spread the good word about my stories.
Or maybe I should say our stories because I loooove the emails I get from readers who give me fantastic ideas for future stories.
