Remember the fun Dr. Suess tale, Horton Hears a Who? I loved reading that book (and later my son starred in a Suessical version of said book), but my favorite line is when all the Whos, who live on a speck on a dandelion, start to raise their voice as one saying,
And now, for something different…or, What I Did During Covid 2020
So, you know how it went…last year was the crazy year.
The year we all found ourselves doing something different. Staying at home. Homeschooling, maybe. Reading more. Making foods we hadn’t tried. Mostly, living outside our comfort zone, right?
Me too.
So, I did something I’d ALWAYS wanted to do but never had time.
Are you thinking the same thing?
I dunno about you, but it’s nearly three weeks into 2021 and already I need a little time out. With Christmas, my dear Mother-in-law’s home going, too much travel, and the news (don’t get me started!)…I’m ready to escape to someplace happy.
A place like (you guessed it) Deep Haven. “Where all the women are strong,
The best I have…
I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving! Listen, I know it was quiet (if you lived in a state where you had to shelter in place). I agree. I cooked for 4 people instead of my usual, beloved 14, but on the bright side, because it was so quiet, I didn’t burn anything. Almost didn’t feel right…
That moment when…
It’s finished!!
Hey friends,
This is today’s view. I know you’re thinking…snow? But what I see are WINDOWS. And light. And occasionally ducks and geese. But most of all…a long-awaited dream nearly finished.
We’ve lived in our current house for 4 years, and when we moved in,
OH! The waiting, the waiting…
Happy October! It’s crazy how fast this year is going. (But admittedly, I’m ready for 2021, right?)
I don’t know what you’re up to, but around here I’m up to my ears in sheetrock dust! Which means that we are NEARLY done with my office addition. I’m SO EXCITED. Here are a few pix of the progress…
What’s your labor?
So, how’s your Labor Day going?
Here’s, it’s raining. There goes the BBQ.
Naw, we actually planned on working outside all day, so we’re doing a little fist bump.
What are we working on, you say?
Finally, our office addition is being built, and today, hubs installed in floor heat.
Weddings, hurricanes, and reviews, oh my!
So, did you hear about the devastating hurricane that hit IOWA this week?
You did not read that wrong. IOWA.
Hello, 2020.
This is a picture of the house across the street from my daughter’s home, in Ankeny, IA.
SCAAARY Stuff. (Pray for the people in Cedar Rapids,
What saying yes did!
So, we’ve been on a sort of adventure the past three weeks:
During the adventure of unpacking and painting my bedroom and bathroom, I got on Zoom and did an interview with a life coach for her upcoming Women of Unique Beauty summit.
(By the way, you can sign up for the summit HERE for free!)
She asked me the secret of my success.
What I did to survive…
So, how are you doing? In case you’re wondering, today is Friday.
(I know, Snowy, I get confused too.)
As a writer, the days already blur a little, especially when I’m deep in writing a book. But this has certainly been different.
There are other beings in my place of work,
