I’m writing from beautiful Napa, California, on our annual scoot out to visit our favorite wineries with our dear friends from Minnesota.
I’m not hurting in the area of cheese, either.
But most of all, I’m mulling over my next book…which I hope to start when I get back.
I am about twenty pages from the end of my book, right in the middle of the thrilling ending, but I wanted to hit pause to say thank you to everyone who has picked up CREED this week from the Susan May Warren Fiction store! I hope you had a fantastic Labor Day weekend. I snuck away to see my daughter and her lovely family. And hung out with these two cool dudes.
This is my hubby. He cooks for us.
And this is my amazing son-in-law, Neil. Look at those dogs. They love him. I wish my characters obeyed me as well as these dogs obey Neil.
I started writing a new book this week. I’m two chapters in and I’m already staying up late at night thinking through all the exciting things that are going to happen. I love the thrill of discovering new characters and taking them on a journey. I usually have everything all plotted out before I start but often there are blank spaces and I love to see how God fills those blanks—and the entire story—with truth.
It’s another beautiful Friday night but our summers are ending fast, aren’t they? Hubs and I took a quick trip down to Florida this past week to help our son Noah pack up and head off to… Kazakhstan! He’ll be spending a year there teaching English at a local college and we’re so excited for him.
August! Hello—where did summer go? I have friends whose children are back in school!
I can admit that panic has set in. My TBR is massive, and my porch is calling…
I did make a small dent in the pile this week by reading a book by one of my friends,
Truth is, I love my garden. Even when we lived up north, I had a nice house garden, with flowers that usually survived the winter. When we moved to this house, the garden was one massive juniper plant that overtook everything with its wild bristly branches. I tore it out, and decided not to remove the thousands and thousands of tons of rock around the house,
Are you as ready for summer as I am? It’s been a fabulous few weeks celebrating my son’s wedding but I am ready for some downtime!
One thing I love about summer is getting out the Corvette. We took it out for a buzz last weekend…so much fun.
I also love lining up my summer reading and other fun projects and events.
