On Friday…they arrive. These people.
I CANNOT WAIT. Because Saturday the Epic Tree Hunt commences.
Every year we trek out into the forest (or nearby tree farm) and cut down the biggest tree in the woods (or one that fits in our house) and commence the Tree Decorating Wars where everyone vies for the perfect branch.
And then we sit down and eat Russian food.
And finally, we commence in puzzling.
It’s an epic Warren Family tradition, and I love the chaos, mess, and loudness of seeing everyone, and the general sense of enjoying each other. I’m so blessed by my amazing children and their spouses (and my beautiful grandchildren!) I so hope you have this sort of joy/anticipation in your lives. It’s from these moments that I pull my Big Family Stories, the great reunions, the family adventures, the dynamics between siblings and parents. Have you met the newest family, the Kingstons?
