So, my sweet son Pete has the WORST luck with cars. There’s a legendary story in our family of Pete and the Cursed Isuzu Rodeo. It broke down during the height of winter (read: -15 in Minnesota!), and Peter had to sleep in it for two nights before we could get help to him.
Yes. You heard that. 2 nights. (Some of this was his fault…or rather determination to fix it himself.) THIS IS WHY you pack a Cold Weather kit in your car (thank you Mom for that advice, which he took). So no fear, he had food, water, a warm sleeping bag, a flashlight and was JUST FINE.
But, frustrated.
And the Worst Luck continues. This is his current situation:
Yes, that’s Saran wrap. It wasn’t in an accident—the computer that activates the window is on the fritz.
Oh, and the motor is having some issues. So, the poor guy is driving MY car.
The cute one with the fuzzy pink steering wheel cover.
And then…of course, that also broke. (something about tie rods, the things that connect the steering gear to the wheels. Just that.)
So…while I was Black Friday shopping, Pete and Hubs and Grandson were having a little car project party.
Does anyone else get warm fuzzies seeing Grandson with his cute little screwdriver?
Gotta love a party—and today, we’re joining the 12 Days of Christmas FREE BOOK party with FRASER! Yep – our favorite Former SEAL and his story about the chase across Europe in search for his brother (and the missing princess!) is FREE today on Amazon.
Speaking of parties, can I invite you to the LAUNCH party of EARLY READERS for my friend Betsy St. Amant’s new book? I worked on this project with her, and it is such a beautiful read about second chance and the girl he shouldn’t love. It’s a Hatfield and McCoy type story, set in Bayou and I just loooove this story! If you’re interested in getting a FREE early read of this book, click here.
It’s getting way too cold in Florida, so we’re heading back north this weekend. Thankfully—I have some great books to read!
Have a great week, and thank you for being such an awesome reader friend!
Warmly,
