Today’s the day! I’m so excited that my latest book, One Last Shot, is now available on Amazon Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
(If you want to jump right to Amazon…here you go!
I know, I can hardly wait too…because The Team has arrived.
I’ve been eagerly awaiting this big day, kind of like the premiere of a great television show. I’ve designed the book to be binge-worthy, so I really hope you enjoy diving into the story and getting to know the Alaska Air One Rescue Team.
To celebrate, let’s play a game! Somewhere in the first 50 pages of the story, there’s an answer to the following question:
Find that answer and fill it in on this form. Everyone who gets it right will be entered into a drawing, and the winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card! (The winner will be announced next Tuesday in the newsletter.)
I’m incredibly grateful to those who have already downloaded and read the book. Here are some kind reviews from Goodreads!
Thank you so much for reading the book and spreading the word!
Speaking of spreading the word, as you know, I base many of my series on hymns. I love hymns because they have deep theological meaning and come from a place of worship and truth. The verses always hold profound significance, and I often draw inspiration for my themes from their lyrics.
This particular series is based on the hymn “My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less,” also known as “On Christ the Solid Rock.“
Here’s a stanza from the hymn that relates to One Last Shot.
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
As you read the book, consider the idea that our hope and identity are not built on our actions or achievements, but on what Jesus has done for us and, above all, who God says we are. This is the central theme of the book and something I believe we desperately need right now—a revelation that we are loved, rescued, and designed for a purpose. Thank God that He sees us as His beloved children.
Below are a couple of my favorite YouTube versions of this hymn that I listened to over and over while writing the book. I hope you enjoy them.
