So recently there’s been this trend where authors show their workspace. And to be honest, I’ve been a little shy to do that because in the raw truth…
I’m more of a horizontal organizer.
And I’m not a minimalist.
And I’m also a bit of a DIY gal…
So anyway, I finally thought…Imma be real. I’ll show you the honest pictures of what it takes to create a SMWF story.
Raw truth #1:
This is my desk. It’s an old table from our first year of marriage that I stripped and re-stained. The blue shelf (if you can see it) is something hubs made for me, also during our first year of marriage. It used to be in my kitchen. The hutch behind me was on sale at a furniture store. And yes, there is a tangle of cords under my desk.
Raw truth #2:
This is my writing chair. Yes, it’s covered with a sheet. Mostly because I also bought it on clearance and all the faux red leather has shredded off after a decade of writing. I love the flat arms and the big ottoman. There is magic in this chair, sort of like the velveteen rabbit.
Raw truth #3:
These are my writing “boards.” Yes, giant sticky sheets on my windows. They’re messy, and yet, my brain is on these pages. I keep them stored here (raw truth #4).
But… raw truth #5:
This is my view.
So, there it is…all the raw truth. And maybe that wasn’t so bad, right? Sometimes we just need to hear the truth, sort of like how Shep needs to hear the truth from London, the Girl Who Has All the Secrets, in my newest release, One Last Stand.
I’m loving the reviews so far! Thank you!
And, it’s still at the low release price of $5.99, so pick it up now before the price goes up on Friday!
I also want to give you a heads up that next week, I’ll be revealing my current Secret Project.
That’s all for today.
